Founded in 1997, the Institute for Advanced Study of Pavia (IUSS), a city offering a very special and unique environment due to its "historical colleges", due to the excellent level of the activities promoted and carried out, on the 8th of July 2005 the Institute was recognized by the Ministry of Education, University and Research as a "Scuola Superiore ad ordinamento speciale".
