West George College, Glasgow:
West George College is a privately run college in Glasgow, Scotland that offers courses to international student from all around the world. We are currently looking for students from within the EU who wish to improve their English Language skills with our intensive ESOL summer school. We are running the course for 8 weeks in the summer, during June, July and August with a choice of evening and day classes to suit you. This class will suit people who simply wish to improve their English while enjoy the sights and culture of one of the UK's greatest cities, or college and university students from within the EU who need to improve their English for educational or employability reasons. More than anything, we provide a fun, friendly, cheap course taught by highly educated, TEFL certified tutors, with an exam and certificate at the end of your studies.
ESOL International - pre-intermediate and intermediate English courses. Great for college/University students who need to improve their English for entry to a UK institution, or simply to better their job prospects, or simply for a fun and educational summer break!
Course Outline:
There would be 12-13 hours per week of teaching time, with a choice of either a mid-moring/afternoon class and an evening class each day for a total of 8 weeks. This makes up more than 600 hours of ESOL teaching. We will teach pre-intermediate and intermediate level classes with an option to take a Pearson's Academic exam, EDI exam, or to receive a college certificate of the level achieved at the end of the course. We study reading, writing, listening, and speaking in a fun and creative way, while teaching you proper, useful English grammar and vocabulary. All you need to do is fill out an application and have a valid EU passport.
The fee for the intensive 8 week course is 800 pounds, but if you wish to do a shorter course with no exam at the end to simply improve your English for personal reasons then that can be arranged on application. In that case, each week you study would cost 100 pounds. 3 weeks would be the minimum you could study for and 8 weeks the maximum. There will be a 15 pounds admin fee to process your application.
West George College is the perfect place to learn English as we are ideally located in the west of the city, next to the pubs and restaurants of Sauchiehall Street, the shops and boutiques of Buchanan Street, and the stylish bohemian area of the West End. Our college is situated in the west of the city, near vibrant Sauchiehall Street and a short distance from the stylish West End, while a short car, bus or train journey will take you to Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh, or to famous beauty spots throughout Scotland.
18th and 19th June
Glasgow’s biggest multicultural festival takes over Kelvingrove Park for a free two-day festival in the summer, with food, drink, dance, art, and literature from all over the world.

Four days packed full of theatre, music, food, outdoor performance, visual arts, dance and fashion.
Edinburgh Festivals
from 5th Aug
This is a world famous group of arts and music festivals that incorporate the Fringe comedy festival, theatre and visual performance, the Edinburgh tattoo, all situated in Scotland's capital (a 45 min train journey from glasgow) of Edinburgh. Students' weekends will be free to explore the ancient city and the amazing festivals that dominate the streets during the summer months.

You can also enjoy a spot of shopping on Buchanan Street and Argyle street, a look around vintage clothes and book shops on Byers Road in the West End, a traditional ceilidh and a taste of whisky in traditional pubs and a tour of Glasgow designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s famous Art Nouveau style that is peppered throughout the city. Glasgow has great transport links, with buses and trains that service the whole of the city, and a subway system that services west, east and Glasgow city centre.
We do not provide any on-site accommodation as we are a small college, but we work with estate agents who can find you flat shares or rooms to rent in the Glasgow area for a weekly price. Alternatively we can find you student halls of residence accommodation or hostel/hotel accommodation before you arrive in Glasgow. However, we do not take any payments on behalf of third party estate agents, hotels, or student halls. We will do our best to find you the perfect accommodation for your stay in Glasgow.
