The Geneva Graduate School of Governance (GGSG) in Geneva, Switzerland, is a bilingual English and French higher education institution of governance studies, international development and social sciences. About Us:

The Geneva Graduate School of Governance is a component of the Geneva Foundation for Governance and Public Policy, an independent, non-profit organization established under Swiss law to support post-graduate higher education, research, consultancy, public forum and publishing activities. GGSG also functions as a research, debate and consulting centre on those public policy fields as well as on change management, educational engineering, institutional development, and sectoral reform.

The education offered at the Geneva Graduate School of Governance is geared towards international careers in both the public and private sectors, will give pride of place to leadership development, communication skills, practice and action to promote prompt sizing up of situations and sound decision-making, in ‘normal’ circumstances as well as in time of crisis.

Our Aim:

Our ambition at the Geneva Graduate School of Governance is to acquire elite academic status in substantive areas of concentration of major international policy relevance that are seldom found together in university syllabuses.

Student Accommodation:

- Permanent Accommodation:  This concerns student opting for GGSG’s resident Master or Certificate programmes, opening in the fall of 2012. We provide detailed information on student housing in the Geneva area when required.

- Occasional Accommodation:  Such is the case with on-line and doctoral students, arriving in Geneva for short periods to attend seminars or final collective exercises.

Studying in Geneva:

The Geneva Graduate School of Governance is located in Geneva, in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, in the south-west of the country. Geneva is a global city, a financial centre, and a worldwide centre for diplomacy (Geneva is one of the world’s diplomatic capital cities). The city of Geneva with a population of 200,000 is encircled by (open) French borders to the north, west and south.

In addition, neighbouring France, Austria, Italy or Germany are all close by. A high-speed train will take you to the French Riviera in less than half a day, and London or other European capital cities are within reach by air in a matter of one or two hours.

International Organizations MBA at the University of Geneva (IOMBA)
Courses / Programs
The University of Geneva's International Organizations MBA (IOMBA) is a unique MBA programme that prepares professionals for careers in the increasingly interconnected fields of international governmental and nongovernmental organizations, and companies that work with these institutions. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, and taught fully in English, the IOMBA is an accredited intensive 13-month programme consisting of a ten-month academic curriculum and a three-month internship or consultancy project within an IO, NGO or a Social Enterprise.

World Peace Academy - Swiss Centre for Peace Studies, Basel

Based in the heart of Basel, Switzerland, on the French-Swiss border, The World Peace Academy runs a full-time postgraduate Master of Advanced Studies Programme in Peace and Conflict Transformation. Our institution is dedicated to peace both as a right and a duty. Those who participate in our educational programmes learn to recognize their duty to work for peace so as to promote the right to peace for all. We are a NGO affiliated with the University of Basel, which accredits our programme and issues our diplomas.

Students can begin the programme either in March, June or September each year. The MAS programme is accredited by the University of Basel, which issues the diploma. It is also possible to obtain an Advanced Certificate in Peace and Conflict Transformation for 12 weeks of courses.
