English Language Immersion in England

Lines, Cold Ash Thatcham in Berkshire:
Downe House is one of the most prestigious boarding schools in England and is located in Cold Ash Thatcham in Berkshire. It is 45 minutes away from Heathrow Int'l Airport, one hour from Central London and half an hour from Oxford. LINES has an exclusive let of these premises during the months of July and August. Our teachers are all qualified, enthusiastic and professional. We are British Council accredited. From arrival until departure at the airport, we commit ourselves to looking after every single student to make sure that they have a memorable stay.

Students are accommodated in pleasant and comfortable study bedrooms - singles for the Seniors (our oldest students); doubles & triples for the Juniors and doubles, triples & quads for the Teens. There are 2 to 5 students per room for the our youngest students. Boys and girls are strictly segregated into separate houses and age groups

After class, everyone participates in a wide variety of activities - squash, tennis, swimming, football, mountain biking, basketball, water polo and many more sports and crafts of all sorts, music, art classes, drama club etc.

Excursions:
Students go out twice a week for two full days excursions, and trips include London (Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Mme Tussaud etc. and shopping in Oxford Street and Harrods) as well as Windsor, Oxford, Bath, Bristol… Students go on visits accompanied at all times by the staff. All entrance fees of these trips are included in the price.

Every two weeks, we organise an optional daily excursion to a fun park (Legoland for the younger learners – Thorpe Park for the older ones) at the cost of �40, which includes entrance and transfer and which has to be paid on site.
