Learn to become an English teacher with EMU TESOL at the Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti (a small Mid-western town located in Washtenaw County, Michigan, approximately 60 km west of Detroit). We provide a range of undergraduate and graduate level TESOL (Teaching Enligh to Speakers of Other Languages) courses. TESOL English Teacher Training Programs:


Masters (MA) In TESOL Program
:  
The TESOL Program prepares candidates to teach English as a second language in the U.S.A. or as a foreign language in other countries. The program combines theory and practice from the fields TESOL / TEFL Coursesof education and applied linguistics. The coursework provides a strong theoretical foundation to inform the multitude of practical choices that English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teachers are required to make in the classroom.

TESL Graduate Certificate / K12 Endorsement Program
:  
This primary goal of this program is to provide public school teachers with skills to more effectively address the academic and social challenges presented by an increasingly diverse student body and to appreciate those students as resources for instruction and classroom enhancement. The program targets five knowledge domains, as set out in the TESOL Standards for K-12 ESL Teacher Education Programs: Language, culture, instruction, assessment, and professionalism.

Undergraduate TESOL Minor:  
The undergraduate TESOL Minor program in the Department of Foreign Languages & Bilingual Studies at Eastern Michigan University prepares candidates to gain competence in teaching English as a second language in the U.S.A. or as a foreign language in other countries.

Combining theory and practice from fields of education and applied linguistics, the program helps candidates develop knowledge and skills in five domains as set forth in the TESOL Standards for K-12 ESL Teacher Education Programs: Language, culture, instruction, assessment, and professionalism.

International Language Institute
Courses / Programs
• International Language Institute (ILI) offers an 8-week TESOL / TEFL certificate program at our school in Washington DC.

• This comprehensive ESL teacher training course has a practical focus and will equip you with the skills you will need to teach English as a Second Language in the United States or abroad.

• The course is offered every 8 weeks, year round. In addition to our TEFL / TESOL certification course, we offer a range of English courses to students from around the world.

• Our 120-hour TESOL / TEFL certification course centers on practice in teaching the four basic language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as the sub-skills of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar.

The TEFL Academy of Arizona in downtown Scottsdale offers Arizona's only in-class 120 hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate course.

This focused and intensive TEFL course is available either as a full-time course during the week (4 weeks) or part-time at weekends (12 weeks). We aim to provide our students with the confidence and know-how to plan a lesson and teach English in ESL classrooms around the world.

Get certified as an English language teacher in Colorado! Oxford Seminars provides an internationally-recognized TESOL / TESL / TEFL certification program in Denver and Boulder CO.

A combined in-class / online course, it comprises 6 days (60 hours) of on-site classes and a 40-hour online component.

The CELTA course is a hands-on practical course based around real classroom teaching experience working with genuine English language learners. All sessions are practical in nature, with some foundation in theory, and demonstrate techniques that you can use immediately in the language lessons you teach.
