The Charles MacPherson Academy educates butlers, household managers, and housekeepers for the modern day service demands of private estates and residences. The Academy is a registered private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Household Management Program 


Over the course of the 4-week vocational program, students are taught the critical skills required for a career in the world of domestic service.

The program is centred around four key pillars: 

1. Household Management: Household Management, Security, Household Mechanicals, and First Aid
2. Butler Skills: Butler Skills, Etiquette & Protocol, Table Setting & Table Service, Valet Service, and Event Planning
3. Laundry & Housekeeping: Housekeeping, Laundry, and Wardrobe Management, and 
4. Advanced Hospitality Skills: Cigars, Coffee, Floral Design, Cooking, and Wine, Champagne & Mixology

This program is for those looking to advance their skills to obtain new roles in private estates and residences or return to existing positions with honed skill sets and refreshed outlooks.

Housekeeping Program

The Charles MacPherson Academy is now offering a 1-week 'Introduction to Professional Housekeeping' course. This introductory course is specifically designed for those interested in transitioning into a career in private service in a housekeeping capacity.

The course is the first component in the development of the Academy's newest program offering since it's establishment of the Household Management Program in 2009. This new program stream will address modern housekeeping standards and the need for professional training in the cleaning and housekeeping world.

The course covers the following topics:

- The Role of the Housekeeper
- Housekeeping Techniques
- Laundry Skills
- Basic Table Setting & Table Service
- Household Security Basics, and
- Successful Interviewing Skills
