Bath Spa University is a fantastic place to study just 1.5 hours from London (Bath is located 120 miles west of London). Ranked in the top ten of the modern UK Universities, the University is small enough for students to benefit from a supportive and friendly study environment, but large enough to provide excellent facilities and resources.

Undergraduate Programs:

Bsc in Biology:
At Bath Spa University during this three year programme you can study the full breadth of Biology or specialise in specific areas such as human biology, conservation, animal biology and plan Universities / Graduate Schoolst biology.

Bsc in Development Geography (Foundation Degree):
This two year programme course explores the topical and key global issues of development.

Bsc in Diet and Health:
The central theme of this three year programme is the impact of diet, nutrition and lifestyle on health.

Bsc in Environmental Science:
The Environmental Science Course is a three year course which will will give you the knowledge and skills to understand and look after the environment.

Bsc in Geography:
Geography bridges the earth sciences (physical geography) and social sciences (human geography) allowing geographers to develop unique understandings of the inter-relationships between people and their physical and social environments. A three year course.

Bsc in Health and Social Care Management (Foundation Degree):
This vocationally focused 2 year course is aimed at people either working or wishing to develop a career in the health and social care sector.

Bsc in Sociology:
Sociology is an exciting, challenging, relevant and increasingly important subject. Sociology is the study of society. During our three year programme you wil learn about society: how it's structured and how it works.

Postgraduate Programs:

Msc in Ecological Impact Assessment:
The course addresses skill gaps identified by the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and the British Ecological Society: biological survey; data interpretation; environmental legislation; and professional practice.

Msc in Health Studies:
A multi-disciplinary postgraduate programme that aims to meet the needs of professionals working or considering work in health and allied fields.

Staff are actively engaged in research and scholarship so that their professional and academic expertise is current, and often cutting-edge. The research and scholarship is relevant and applied, and used to inform what, and how, you are taught.

Importantly, they're also very good at teaching. No fewer than four lecturers at Bath Spa University have received National Teaching Fellowships (thought of as the Oscars of university teaching!) since the scheme was launched in 2000 - and since only 50 Fellowships are awarded nationally each year that's an excellent record for any university, much less one the size of Bath Spa.

Bath Spa is one of only nine universities participating in the exciting “ecocampus” pilot scheme aimed at developing a nationally accredited environmental Award scheme for universities in England. EcoCampus is closely aligned to the international environmental management System Accreditation (ISO 14001), which we are also working towards achieving.

EcoCampus covers all aspects of the University’s operations, including waste management; energy and water; transport; emissions and discharges; construction and refurbishment; sustainable purchasing; and community involvement

EcoCampus is a four-stage accreditation process (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) and at the time of writing Bath Spa has achieved Bronze level and is being audited for Silver stage.

There are several options: halls of residence on campus; our off site halls (Waterside Court, Charlton Court and Bankside House); or one of our secured, accredited houses in the private rented sector.

Famous for its Roman Baths, romantic riverside and elegant Georgian architecture, Bath boasts some of the most beautiful architectural masterpieces in Europe. The Royal Crescent, the Circus, the Abbey, the Pump Room and the Assembly Rooms are all essential features on any visitor's itinerary. And yet Bath is far more than a historical monument - it is bustling with life and entertainment.

If you enjoy visiting art galleries or museums, Bath has plenty to offer - no less than seventeen, in fact! The Victoria Art Gallery hosts one of the best programmes of temporary exhibitions in the region, and other galleries hold collections including East Asian Art, sculpture and ceramics. Bath's museums cover subjects as diverse as costume, the postal system, and antique books. The Jane Austen Centre tells the tale of the city's most famous resident.
