We highly recommend the following
language resources for use at home or in class:
1. The Oxford Picture Dictionary for Kids (English/Spanish
Edition) by Joan Ross Keyes, Paperback: 152 pages, Publisher: Oxford
University Press
The Oxford Picture Dictionary for Kids is very well organized and
uses a group of characters that provide continuity throughout the
dictionary. These characters provide a continual story line so that
I use the dictionary not only for "finding words," but also as a
base for teaching content-area information. The pictures are clear
and well-defined and cover a large vocabulary spectrum.
