Bachelor of Design Majoring in Fashion DesignThe study of Fashion Design focuses on developing an in-depth understanding of fashion design through exploratory and experimental projects. This course takes the student from design concepts and processes through to final production, while teaching required business and contextual studies. It provides an integrated approach, combining creativity with applied technical proficiency.
With a strong foundation in technical proficiency and a good eye for market trends, students will start to hone their individual styles and identities through their collections. Training students to be flexible in responding to ever-changing market needs, technological developments and trends, fashion graduates will be more than ready to assume professional work in this fast-paced industry.
Bachelor of Design Majoring in Graphic Design
The study of Graphic Design involves an in-depth understanding of a Graphic Designer’s role in history, society and research. Students will have the opportunity to explore issues of culture, economics and social implications of graphic design solutions. Through major practical projects, students will hone their multi-disciplinary skills to offer creative and practical solutions, preparing them for challenging careers combining creativity, concepts and computer software skills in the highly competitive advertising and publishing industries.
Bachelor of Design Majoring in Multimedia Design
The purpose of this programme is to equip students with the fundamental broad-based skills in graphic design, afterwhich, students learn to transform 2D graphics into the 3D world by creating interfaces and integrate programming abilities to illustrate the wonders of using multiple forms of Interactive Media.
Students are also presented with the opportunity to research multimedia design trends and issues within society to produce an integrated suite of design solutions, taking into account aspects of culture, economics and social interaction.
Bachelor of Arts (Visual Communication) Majoring in Animation
The course of Animation emphasizes on the design and the production aspects of 2D and 3D animation, and developing skill sets in Life drawing, Background and Character Designs. In the ever-advancing technological new age, students will learn to sharpen their competitive edge in the region, using high-end equipments to edit in pre-production, production and post-production processes. Students will also have the opportunities to learn moving imagery skills and special effects, that are currently in demand in the film media and entertainment industries, both locally and internationally.
Bachelor of Arts (Visual Communication) Majoring in Games DesignThe course of Games Design prepares students to be the “Mastermind” behind the games that people play. Besides learning game strategizing, game levels design, game scripting and production, students will also examine marketing, business and management issues.
Students are taught on the techniques and tools used in computer games development and computer animation in aspects of 2D and 3D animation, with combination of theoretical and activity-based leaning.
Bachelor of Design Majoring in Interior Design
The study of Interior Architecture encompasses the study of both architectural and design content within a built environment, while focusing on the human interface within a given space.
This course provides intensive training for students to become professional interior designers. Emphasis is placed on space planning, creative problem-solving, communication skills and knowledge of building materials, construction, computer-aided drafting and the history of design.
Bachelor of Design Majoring in Product Design
The study of Product Design involves the hands-on approach to technological, manufacturing skills and design management. Students will experience a broad-based, diagnostic curriculum – grasping investigational, analytical and problem-solving skills through a project based, modular system, which encourages the investigation and understanding of various specializations in Product Design. Students are also provided with ‘real-life’ client projects – underpinning the relevance and importance of industry requirements in a highly competitive design environment.
Bachelor of Design Majoring in Jewellery Design
This course will allow students to explore a variety of areas within traditional and contemporary Jewellery Design – where emphasis is placed on creativity, innovation, experimentation and the material application of technical skills. This course aims to integrate students into professional practice of the design and manufacture of jewellery and its associated products.
Bachelor of Design Majoring in Fashion Marketing
The study of Fashion Marketing and Management is an exciting field that opens one up to countless opportunities in the fashion industry. Student learn buying and merchandising practices, conceptualizing, advertising and promotional activities. Tailored to blend creative fashion knowledge with a solid grounding of business, marketing and contextual studies.
Specialisation in Retail Management
The course on Retail Management embraces one of the most established branches of the Marketing discipline, as indeed most retailing activity predates the concept of Marketing. Retail Management course commences with the student gaining a thorough insight into the retail industry and comprehending the various models of retail marketing. Students will learn to develop and manage the challenging retail environment and enhance its effectiveness by incorporating the tools of Marketing and Integrated marketing Communication.
Specialisation in Fashion Communication and Journalism The study of Fashion Communication and Journalism focuses on an in-depth understanding of promotional activities, corporate journalism and publications, events planning, international public relations, communication plans and fashion photography. The course allows you to enhance your practical skills to the level of master practitioner through Design Studio modules, while furthering your theoretical understandings through Design Theory modules, developing a capacity for critical reflection on the profession of design through the Design Practice Seminar modules.
