Jewellery Design & Management International School:
Jewellery Design & Management International School (JDMIS) is located in Sunshine Plaza, Rochor district, Singapore (South-East Asia). We aim at providing education and inspiration by means of specialized academic programs in jewellery design, history, marketing & management, as well as vocational training in new technologies and practical production of creative, designer jewellery. Our unique diploma programs produce an enterprising new breed of jewellery designers who will develop into entrepreneurs or will become qualified professionals primed for success in the corporate jewellery industry. For industry professionals, we provide shorter, yet comprehensive, 34 hour Certificate courses in a variety of practical and business related topics. We also offer many short 'modular' courses for students, who want to learn a specific skill and still have that learning contribute towards their longer certificate & diploma programs.

We pride ourselves on providing inspirational, state-of-the-art of facilities to satisfy every student's needs. Our facilities consist of two dedicated classrooms, a large workshop, resource and administrative areas on the 7th storey of Sunshine Plaza. Small numbers of full- and part-time certificate program students make use of our spacious and well-lit workshop area with an exceptional student to teacher ratio of under 10-1. In addition to this conducive setting, our workshop area includes many aditional tools and equipment and inspirational materials needed for the budding jewellery designer of fabrication expert to grow; equipment such as a large, multi-purpose high-temperature kiln, magnetic and rotary finishers, flex-shafts, and other tools of the trade.

Our school has connections to members of the jewellery industry in manufacturing, wholesale and retail sectors. By reviewing their requirements and feedback about employment and management issues, we are able to tailor our courses and the directions our students take to ensure maximum relevance to the current job market. We also are establishing connections with retail jewelers, manufacturers, design houses and entrepreneurs willing to provide internships to qualified students who show potential.

The goal at the JDMIS is to provide a solid and wide spanning foundation in Jewellery Arts and gem awareness; to build confidence in its students for them to undertake design challenges and cross boundaries, secure in the knowledge that they have a firm grounding in every aspect of jewellery design. We believe that in order for graduates to work as designers and jewellery professionals they are required to have a sound understanding of the holistic nature of the design discipline and to be sensitive to the cultural, economic, technological and ethical climate within which they practise. This understanding is encouraged through studio practice, industrial visits, placements, and through the theory and business modules that are integrated within the programmes.
