1) Is the Certificate in TESOL widely recognised?
Yes, the Certificate in TESOL is an internationally recognised and approved qualification.
2) What is the difference between the CELTA and TESOL qualification?
CELTA is a similar teaching qualification to the TESOL but is offered by Cambridge ESOL. They are both internationally recognised level 5 qualifications.
3) Does the Certificate in TESOL qualify me to teach English to Children?
The Certificate in TESOL is mostly aimed at teaching English as a second langauge to adults. It is recognised worldwide as a TEFLi qualification and acceptable for teachers who wish to teach English in language schools. To teach English in State schools you will require the OGCE qualification.
4) Do I need to have taught before to do the Certificate in TESOL course?
No, the course is deisgned for those with little or no teaching experience.
5) Can I do the course if English is not my native language?
Yes, English does not have to be your first language to take the Certificate in TESOL course. However you must be able to demonstrate a high level of English langauge skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. You require an IELTS level 7 or the equivalent.
Inlingua Cheltenham can arrange accommodation for course candidates. We usually reccommend a self catering option. This would be with a host family, who either allow shared use of their kitchen or they have a seperate living area for students to stay in. All accommodation is located in Cheltenham and will include either a short bus ride or walk to our centre. If you would prefer Hotel or B&B accommodation, we can reccommend places in Cheltenham to stay.
