The TEFL Org team has over 50 years of experience in language schools and teacher training. Joe Hallwood, co-founder of The TEFL Org, has worked in teacher training for over 20 years, developing and delivering courses for other organisations in the UK, the USA and Ireland. Will a The TEFL Org course get me a job?
Yes it will. As an internationally recognised qualification, TEFL Org graduates are teaching all over the world.
Can The TEFL Org set me up with a job following the course?
We are continually setting up arrangements with schools overseas, so keep an eye on the TEFL Jobs Centre to see what placements are available. Once you enrol on a TEFL Org course, you will be able to call or e-mail us any time to discuss your TEFL job options with our team of TEFL advisers.
Do I need to get anything for the course?
You don't, just a pen and paper. We recommend a grammar reference book since this is the most essential resource any teacher can have. There are a number on the market. Ones we have used when we were starting are Practical English Usage by Michael Swan, or A - Z of Grammar by Geoffrey Leach.
How long do the courses take?
The 20 hour weekend course is completed in one weekend! The online courses will depend on how much time you set aside for completing it. We give you a maximum of six months but on average it normally takes students just two to three months.
Is there international TEFL accreditation?
There is no one awarding body for TEFL. Most course providers provide their own accreditation or seek accreditation from accrediting bodies that are not TEFL-specific. The TEFL Org has accreditation from the BAC and ODLQC. We are also an SQA approved centre, and the most highly accredited TEFL provider in the UK.
What is the difference between TEFL Org courses and other courses?
Our courses have been written by some of the most experienced teacher trainers in TEFL. Having over 50 years of experience between us we have designed the courses to give first-time teachers everything they need to become the best they can be. We offer free lifetime access to job listings, give you six months to complete your course and all of our courses are tutor-led. This means that you are never alone, and your learning experience is the best it can be.
What qualifications do I need to apply for a course?
We believe that if you can speak English then you have the potential to teach it. Therefore, we only ask that you are a native-level speaker of English and that you have the enthusiasm to learn something new. No other qualifications or experience is necessary.
What support will I get on the course?
All our courses are tutor-guided so you will receive the support you need. You can access our forums and community and discuss aspects of the course with others in the same position as you. You will also have access to our helpdesk should you have any queries about your course, and you can contact us via phone, email or social media pages at any time.
When will I receive my certificate?
You will receive your certificate within around 14 days of completing your course. If you need it sooner then give us a call and we'll see what we can do!
Where are The TEFL Org courses held?
TEFL Org courses run throughout the UK, Ireland and Spain but if you think we should be holding a course somewhere we are not, then let us know.
Will I be able to apply for jobs straight after the course?
On average, about a third of students have secured jobs before they go on the course, others will apply for work after having done the course. So, you can apply for work as soon as you make the decision to go abroad and do it! Once qualified, the world is your oyster.

TESOL Training Scotland
Courses / Programs
TESOL Training Scotland is dedicated to providing professional development for experienced English language teachers throughout Scotland. We provide a comprehensive online Trinity TESOL Diploma course, with on-site course workshops held in several locations on a rotating basis. Our courses lead to the Licentiate Diploma in TESOL awarded by Trinity College London. We also provide a range of SQA Professional Development Award TESOL courses for experienced English teachers.

St Brelade's College, Jersey
Courses / Programs
• St Brelade’s College is located on the British island of Jersey in the Channel Islands, approximately 20 miles off the French coast and 80 miles south of England. • We are accredited by the British Council and are a member of English UK, along with being a validated course provider of the Trinity College London Cert. TESOL.
• We have been providing English language courses for students from all parts of the world since 1978. In 1989, we ran our first four-week TESOL training course, and have continued to the present day. This is one of the two most widely recognised teaching qualifications (accepted by the British Council and most language schools).
